Volunteer lawyer visit to West Balcatta Primary School

As part of the Law Society of Western Australia education engagement programme we visited the year 5 students at West Balcatta Primary School.  The previous week they learned about a challenging and broad topic: democracy.  Our visit covered: How regulations and laws affect the lives of citizens, the roles and responsibilities of key personnel in the legal system.

We provided some example WA Acts and an activity sheet for students to write about why the law was in place and who it would affect.  The students were engaged and asked a lot of questions.

Their thank you letters are much appreciated.
